We are one of the lead organizations influencing government policy toward increased involvement and budgetary commitment toward the ECD sector in the country.
Co-developed and piloted Mozambique’s National Preschool Curriculum adopted in 2011.
We led the convening and coordination of the first-ever International Conference on ECD in Mozambique, which saw the government officially adopting a more proactive stance and commitment towards ECD policy and programming.
We are currently engaged in ongoing technical assistance to the Ministry of Labor, Gender and Social Welfare (MLGSW) and Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) on ECD, play-based learning, and parent education.
Our comprehensive, family-focused model yields measurable community results:
1,300+ caregivers have completed parenting sessions.
400+ children (0-2 years range) are supported through weekly home visits.
5 community preschools have been established or rehabilitated.
25 ECD educators and 75 ECD committee members have been trained.
441 children are receiving daily nutritious meals with regular growth monitoring.
Our youth programming builds life skills and economic pathways:
12,000 adolescents and youth (14–19) have been engaged across Maputo, Gaza, and Inhambane.
We have documented increases in optimism, resilience, social & financial skills, and youth-led micro-enterprise formation.
We strengthen adherence and protection for the most vulnerable families:
165 children on ART are followed-up on and supported.
250 adolescent/single mothers and 150 orphans and vulnerable children have been supported.
The program has ensured the strengthening of adherence via treatment units and community case management.
Our SEEDS framework articulates our commitment to quality, scalability, and sustainability.
